Are atheists trying to free Christians from a prison only to find out the prisoners don’t want to be free?
It’s a maximum security prison with watchtowers, razor wire and landmines. Nonetheless, atheists are determined to break into the prison and free as many falsely imprisoned Christians as possible; atheists are willing to die to achieve this. They miraculously manage to evade the security systems and break into the holding area. They find the control panel for the cells and they open all the cell doors. They say to the Christians huddled in their cells like frightened sheep, “Come on! You’re free now! Come with us and live in freedom!” But the Christians are scared; they cower and shamefully avert their eyes. For they have had their spirits broken; they won’t even let their children be free. Is this an accurate metaphor?
