What gives us the right to enjoy ourselves?

Rights are strictly a convention for organizing society; they derive from nothing except experience. We have as much right to enjoy ourselves as we do to eat, and do not have responsibility for anyone unless we voluntarily ume such responsibility. I am as displeased as anyone about the Darfur situation, but I don't have a dog in that fight and look to my own family instead.
