Non-touristy things to do in S. Italy and Sicily?

Hi! I would suggest going to Paestum in Southern Italy. It's a great place to see ancient ruins. In Sicily Cefalu is a great small town right on the sea that not too many tour companies go to. Of course you have Agrigento, Palermo and such which have great places to see as well. Don't be afraid to ask the locals while your there. It all depends what areas your going to be in. If your going through a tour company they are going to keep ya on the path where most tourists go, but don't be afraid to go off on your own after the tour is over and explore!
