Any one have a template to note staff whereabouts on a daily basis?

The field service engineers in my office go out to different oil fields - sometimes for a few days or for a week. I am the office administrator and my boss wants me to design something that can track where everyone is.. instead of phoning to ask them or them telling me. I thought a white board that everyone could look at would be idea. Please help me with a template if you have a link to one.Thanks a lot.
