Can you wire a 4 ohm dvc sub to stay for 4ohh or do your need a 2ohm dvc sub to wire to 4 ohm in series?

I bought 1 channel amp and at 2ohms its too much power for one sub but at four ohms itll be fine, but i only want one subwoofer not 2 so im planning on an orion hcca 12inch but not sure if i get the 2ohm one or the 4 ohm one since i want to run the amp at 4ohms not 2.
